Battlefleet Duo

Battlefleet Duo is a turn-based naval strategy game from independent developer Brian Corrieri, based on the familiar board game of hidden fleets. Each player secretly places five ships on a 10-by-10 grid, then takes turns firing at the opponent's waters and using hits and misses to work out where the enemy ships are. Shots, fire, smoke and sinking ships play out on a 3D ocean with day, dusk, night and storm conditions, and a Classic mode swaps the ocean for a plastic peg board. Standard rules follow the original game, while Enhanced rules give each ship its own weapon, such as an air strike or torpedo, which is lost when that ship sinks. You can play the computer at three difficulty levels, play face to face on two devices over a local network, pass one device between two players, or play online through Game Center. Progress syncs through iCloud. The game launched on October 23, 2026, the day iPhone Duo shipped, and the developer describes it as built for the device. It is free to download with two battles a day; a one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited battles.

The developer's App Store listing, published at launch on October 23, 2026, lists a tabletop mode: your fleet sits on the lower half of the screen while the enemy's waters stand up in front of you. Fully open, a full-screen mode uses the larger display for enhanced 3D graphics. The developer also says the game camera and layout adapt as you fold the device. DuoDiscover has not yet tested it on an iPhone Duo.
