Photo Scout

Photo Scout is a planning assistant for photographers from Cascable AB. Instead of asking you to check forecasts every day, it watches the locations you save and sends a notification when conditions match the shot you have in mind.

Each saved scene combines a place with requirements. Depending on the subject, those can include sunset vibrancy, wind speed limits for drone flights, cloud cover, aurora activity, the sun's cycle and the moon's phase and position. An opportunity chart shows upcoming windows for a scene across several days, which helps with multi-day shoots and video work, and an Instant Inspiration feature analyzes conditions at a chosen spot and suggests photo ideas. Home screen widgets keep upcoming opportunities in view.

The app is aimed at anyone shooting with a phone, mirrorless or DSLR camera, film camera or drone. It starts with a one-week free trial and then offers two subscription tiers: Hobbyist, which allows up to five scenes with hourly updates, and Professional, which removes the scene limit and adds more frequent updates, extended weather data, customizable notifications and widgets.

Version 1.3.1, released on October 20, 2026, added support for iPhone Duo.

Cascable's release notes for version 1.3.1 (October 20, 2026) state that the update adds support for iPhone Duo. No specific layout or fold features are described, so we list it as Compatible. DuoDiscover has not yet tested it on an iPhone Duo.
