Edits

Edits is a free video creation app from Instagram, made for creators who shoot and edit short videos on their phone. You can capture clips up to 10 minutes long and edit with single-frame precision. Editing tools include green screen, cutouts, video overlays, AI animation for still images, filters and effects, stickers, fonts, voice and sound effects, audio enhancement to reduce background noise, and automatic captions you can restyle. Videos export in 4K with no watermark and can be shared to any platform, with a direct route to Instagram. Drafts and finished projects are kept together in one place, and you can browse reels with trending audio for ideas. The latest update, version 454.0, adds text animations, beat-synced video effects and clip volume up to 150 percent. Edits is one of the apps Apple featured in its October 22, 2026 iPhone Duo announcement. Apple says that on the unfolded phone, creators can see their full creative studio at once: the timeline, editing tools and video together. Apple describes this for the larger inner display only, and Instagram's release notes do not mention iPhone Duo.

In its October 22, 2026 iPhone Duo announcement, Apple says that with Instagram's Edits, creators can view their full creative studio on iPhone Duo, including the timeline, editing tools, video and more. Apple's photos show Edits on the fully flat open display. Apple describes no outer-display or half-open behaviour for Edits, and Instagram's current release notes do not mention iPhone Duo. DuoDiscover has not yet tested Edits on a device.
