Metronome ∞

Metronome ∞ is a practice metronome from Panoramic Software for musicians at any level, from beginners to working players. At its core it offers precise BPM control, tap tempo, adjustable meters and subdivisions, a choice of click sounds, and visual beat indicators for silent practice. It also shows Italian tempo markings such as Andante or Allegro as you change speed. Beyond keeping time, it includes tools for testing your own timing. Bar Muting plays a few bars and then drops the click while the beat continues silently, so you can hear whether you held the tempo when it returns. Tempo Ramp raises the BPM by a set amount every few bars. Presets and setlists save a song's full setup, so you can step through a set in order during rehearsal or on stage. The app is free to download, contains ads, and sells extras as in-app purchases: a full version, a digital tuner and a guitar suite. The October 2026 update added Neon Waves, a beat visual made of coloured waves that swell on each beat (full version only, and it needs an A13 chip or later). The same update added iPhone Duo support.

Panoramic Software's release notes for version 4.0.4 (October 14, 2026) describe a specific iPhone Duo layout. The controls move down the side of the screen, and with the phone open the metronome and tuner split at the fold, one on each half. The same update makes the launch screen fill every display. DuoDiscover has not yet tested it on a device.
