MD Vinyl

MD Vinyl is a music app from MD Studio that wraps your listening in the look and feel of vinyl records. Instead of a flat list of tracks, albums appear as records you can browse, and playback happens on a virtual turntable where you drop the needle to start listening, with album art and record designs shown as you play. It is aimed at people who miss the ritual of physical music but now listen through streaming, and who want something more visual than a standard player screen. The app runs on iPhone and iPad and is free to download, with in-app purchases. Version 3.8.5, released on October 24, 2026, is the release that brings it to iPhone Duo. According to the developer's release notes, the album collection can now be browsed in 3D with a vinyl layout that reacts as the screen folds, and the phone can be stood half-open on a desk to act as a small record player, with the album art on the upper half and the spinning record below. That makes it one of the apps that uses the Duo's hinge positions rather than only the larger inner display.

MD Studio's notes for version 3.8.5 (October 24, 2026) say the 3D album browser uses a vinyl layout that responds as you fold the screen. Set half-open on a desk, iPhone Duo turns into a small record player: album art sits on the upper half and the vinyl spins below while music plays. DuoDiscover has not yet tested it on an iPhone Duo.
