Instagram is Meta's social network for sharing photos and short videos with friends and following creators, brands and interests. The app is free to download and is built around a handful of familiar surfaces: the Feed for posts from recent events and trips, Stories and Notes that disappear after 24 hours, Reels for short entertaining video, and Explore for finding new accounts. It also handles group chats, Close Friends sharing, and shopping from brands and small businesses, and posts can be dressed up with templates, music, stickers and filters. It suits almost anyone who keeps up with friends or follows creators from a phone. On iPhone Duo, Apple named Instagram in its October 22, 2026 newsroom post about apps ready for the foldable, saying the app shows more posts and Stories onscreen at once. Apple's post describes the benefit of the larger display and does not mention a dedicated folded, half-open or hinge-driven mode, so DuoDiscover lists it as Adapted rather than Built for Duo. Instagram's separate video editor, Edits, is a different app and is not covered by this listing.

Apple's October 22, 2026 newsroom post says Instagram shows more posts and Stories onscreen at once on iPhone Duo. Apple does not describe a specific half-open or outer-display behaviour for the app. DuoDiscover has not yet tested Instagram on a device.
