About this app
CARROT Weather, from Grailr LLC, is a weather app known for pairing detailed forecasts with a talking robot that delivers them with a dose of dark humour. You can pick from several personalities, from a straightforward professional tone to a profane one, or keep the jokes out of the way. Underneath the personality it is a detailed forecasting tool, with current, hourly and daily views and detailed data screens. A Premium Club subscription adds a choice of weather data sources, including The Weather Channel, AccuWeather and Apple Weather, along with notifications for precipitation, weather alerts and lightning, Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets, Live Activities and Apple Watch complications. The app also includes game-like extras such as secret locations to find, achievements to unlock and an augmented reality mode. The developer states that location data is never sold to third parties. Version 6.9.2 added iPhone Duo support and multi-window support, and reworked the Super Res Radar dual-pane mode so it can split vertically in portrait and horizontally in landscape on larger screens. The release notes do not describe a layout made specifically for the folded or unfolded Duo. CARROT is free to download, with Premium Club offered as an in-app purchase. It suits people who check the weather often and like an app with personality.
